i) Educational Qualification
Essential: BE / B Tech (preferably Mechanical)
Desirable: ME / M Tech (preferably Mechanical Design or equivalent)
ii) Experience
Minimum: 03 Maximum: 06
Job Role & Responsibilities:-
Role: Pedestrian Protection and Component Crash CAE Simulation & Evaluation
Responsibilities:
• Prepare full vehicle CAE models using HYPERMESH/ANSA/PRIMER – Mesh discretization, Assembly, Constraints & Load setting – for automotive sub-systems and components.
• Component Strength and Pedestrian Safety CAE simulations using LS-DYNA software. Development of vehicle body structures and aggregates for Pedestrian protection & Component strength (SBA, ISOFIX, etc.,)
• Model optimization and Robustness using Hyperstudy, LS-OPT etc.
• Interpretation of results in LS-PrePost/ HyperView/ Hypergraph - comprehend failure modes and provide directions for countermeasures by performing parameter studies on the FEM model.
• Report preparation and communication with stakeholders – design, testing – for implementation of countermeasures.
• Interact with testing teams for analyzing failures, correlation of CAE results with physical testing and make improvements in CAE for better correlation.
Competency Requirements
Technical / Functional:
• Strong knowledge of Strength of Materials, Theory of Elasticity/Plasticity, and Automotive Body, Sheet Metal, and Plastic Part Design.
• Understanding of AIS Safety Regulations and NCAP protocols.
• Knowledge of finite element analysis and Hands-on experience in Pedestrian protection and component crash CAE simulations, including SBA, luggage retention, ISOFIX, and related safety performance evaluations.
• Experience in Crash CAE model building and system-level simulations. Full-vehicle crashworthiness simulation expertise will be an added advantage.
• Debug the CAE model for LS-Dyna environment, interpret the results, post process the deck and report to functional manager.
• Proficiency in FEA result analysis, post-processing, and preparation of technical reports with design improvement recommendations.
• Familiarity with physical testing and correlation of test conditions with CAE simulations.
• Exposure to AI/ML applications in CAE (preferred). Knowledge of automation scripting using Python and/or TCL.
