VCA Charles Towne Animal Hospital is hiring a full time Veterinary Assistant who has surgical experience to join our general practice team . About Us Our AAHA-accredited primary care facility provides illness care, surgery, dentistry, and more. We see canine and feline species patients! Our hours are typically Monday through Friday 8am-6pm, Saturday 8am-3pm, closed on Sundays. Schedule: Full time, Saturday rotation required About the Role As a Veterinary Assistant, you will help create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients and clients. Duties will include: • Compassionate patient care • Client education and care • Venipuncture and catheter placement • Radiology and diagnostics • Lab sample collection and processing • Surgical preparation and assisting • Anesthesia monitoring • Dentistry • Medication preparation and administration • Safe and effective patient handling and restraint • Medical recordkeeping Qualified candidates will have at least one year of experience as a veterinary assistant performing these technical duties, or similar level of experience as a veterinary technology student.
