Job Details: Job Location: The Old Globe CA - San Diego, CA, Salary Range: $17.75 - $17.75Hourly, The Old Globe, located in beautiful Balboa Park, is seeking a Part-Time Gift Shop Staff member to join our team at San Diego’s premier regional theatre. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, and with day-to-day guidance and direction from Gift Shop Supervisors during their shift, Gift Shop Staff are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the theatre’s Gift Shop before, during, and after performances. This role serves as a key point of contact for patrons, staff, and volunteers, helping create a welcoming, hospitable, and seamless retail experience for all guests. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Open and close the gift shop for performances and scheduled weekend daytime hours Interact with patrons and deliver attentive, high-quality customer service Handle cashiering and point-of-sale transactions Manage stock, restock merchandise, set up displays and support inventory management The Old Globe is actively committed to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion, & access in all areas of our operation. Qualifications: The successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities: Previous customer service, cashiering, or retail experience required Experience with inventory control or volunteer supervision preferred Strong communication, organizational, and math/cash-handling skills Ability to maintain a welcoming demeanor and stay composure under pressure The hourly rate is $17.75/hour. Gift Shop Staff are in seasonal part-time positions working an average of 20-25 hours per week during production. Flexible availability, including weekday evenings and weekends, is required to align with show schedules. Typical shift length is 3.5 to 4 hours.
