ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a leading North American manufacturer of nonwoven filtration media with more than 50 years in the industry. They produce air, liquid, and specialty filtration products used in HVAC and dust collection, industrial paint overspray capture, medical and consumer goods, and geotextiles. Backed by a growing parent organization and continued investment, they're building out a skilled maintenance team to keep their production lines running at their best.
THE ROLE
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll keep a wide range of specialized production equipment running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes variety, enjoys diagnosing problems, and takes pride in fixing things right the first time.
EQUIPMENT YOU'LL WORK ON
- Fiber opening, blending, and web-forming equipment, including air-lay machines, garnetts, and carding lines (in-line and cross-lapped)
- Bonding and processing lines, including thermal bonding ovens, resin bonding (spray and dip-and-dry) systems, and needle-punch looms
- Multi-feed fiber blending systems
- Chain, belt/tread, and roller conveyors, along with gearboxes, bearings, pumps, and drives
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance: inspecting, cleaning, calibrating, and lubricating plant equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures, replacing belts, chains, seals, and bearings
- Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves, lines, and pressure checks
- Support basic electrical troubleshooting as you grow in this area, with opportunities to learn three-phase motors, contactors, and PLC fault finding on the job
- Weld, cut, and fabricate guards, brackets, and simple structural parts
- Document repairs, parts usage, and equipment history in a CMMS
- Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and all plant safety rules while working around heavy industrial equipment
WHAT YOU BRING
- 1–3 years of industrial maintenance mechanic experience, ideally in manufacturing
- Strong mechanical aptitude with power transmission components (bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts)
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Basic welding and fabrication skills
- Electrical experience is a plus but not required. We're happy to train someone eager to build their electrical skills
- Experience with a CMMS (SAP, Maximo, or similar) is a plus
- Experience with textile, nonwoven, or converting equipment is a strong plus
- Solid commitment to safety and LOTO practices
- Willingness to work overtime or respond to breakdowns as needed
WHY JOIN
- Stable, established manufacturer with long-term investment behind it
- Variety of specialized equipment to grow your skills on
- Training and room to grow your electrical skills
- [Benefits: medical/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, etc.]
