The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Rheumatology provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with autoimmune and inflammatory disorders in an outpatient setting. This role functions in close collaboration with rheumatologists while also managing a panel of patients daily and independently. The APP plays a key role in improving access, optimizing chronic disease management, and delivering comprehensive care across the patient journey. This role is currently practicing in the outpatient setting only. -Obtaining patient history -Performing physical examinations -Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures -Formulating a diagnostic impression -Developing and implementing a treatment plan -Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions -Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs -Making appropriate referrals -Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication -Assisting in surgery -Performing minor procedures and surgical procedures -Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs. Due to the complexity of our patient population, a minimum of two years of NP/PA experience is required. No new graduates will be considered at this time. Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP. Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice. Additional Qualifications: Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
