Join our team as a Construction Superintendent at Tucson House!
Gorman & Company is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to support the ongoing rehabilitation of Tucson House, a 358-unit high-rise multifamily community in Tucson, Arizona. This role is ideal for a hands-on construction professional with multifamily experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. You will work alongside a team of four Superintendents to coordinate daily field operations, support subcontractors, maintain project schedules, and ensure work is completed to company standards. Success in this role requires a dependable, respectful, and trustworthy leader who can thrive in a demanding construction environment.
What You’ll Do
• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day field construction activities for the ongoing rehabilitation of Tucson House, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with the four other Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders to coordinate work, resolve challenges, and maintain consistent communication across the project team.
• Monitor project schedules, construction sequencing, labor, material deliveries, and subcontractor performance to keep work progressing and address potential delays or issues proactively.
• Serve as an on-site point of contact for subcontractors, inspectors, and ownership representatives, maintaining professional relationships and coordinating inspections and follow-up activities.
• Enforce jobsite safety requirements, conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe construction site in accordance with company standards and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, project photos, inspection records, delivery tickets, field reports, and other construction documentation while using Microsoft Office and applicable project management tools to support project coordination.
• Monitor workmanship, address deficiencies, coordinate punch-list activities, and support project closeout while maintaining high standards of accountability, professionalism, and resident awareness throughout the rehabilitation process.
What You’ll Bring
• Previous experience in multifamily construction, with a strong preference for experience overseeing large-scale rehabilitation or renovation projects.
• OSHA 30 certification and a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant construction site.
• Knowledge of construction sequencing, building plans and specifications, subcontractor coordination, and quality control; familiarity with Tucson's local inspection processes and requirements is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a team of four Superintendents and build productive working relationships with subcontractors, inspectors, and project partners.
• A respectful, trustworthy, and dependable approach to leadership, with the ability to work through challenges professionally, follow through on commitments, and maintain accountability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project, with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and support project scheduling.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the flexibility to manage a demanding construction schedule while balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
