You’ll get to know our residents, notice changes that may affect their well-being, communicate with the nursing team, and help create a safe and supportive environment where residents feel genuinely cared for. If you’re someone who takes medication safety seriously while never losing sight of the person behind the medication record, we’d love to meet you. About the Opportunity As a Certified Medication Aide, you’ll work closely with licensed nursing staff and the broader resident-care team to safely administer medications, observe resident conditions, support activities of daily living, and maintain accurate documentation. You’ll play an important role in helping residents feel safe, respected, and supported throughout their day. What You’ll Own • Safely administer prescribed medications according to physician orders, state regulations, and community policies • Accurately document medication administration and maintain required medication records • Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, reactions, and changes in condition • Immediately communicate concerns or changes in resident condition to licensed nursing staff • Review resident service and care plans for updates affecting medication or resident support • Respond promptly and professionally to resident needs and call lights • Assist residents with activities of daily living and personal care as needed • Support a clean, safe, and comfortable resident environment • Follow infection-control, medication-safety, confidentiality, and resident-rights procedures • Assist with medication inventory and communicate shortages or discrepancies • Collaborate closely with LVNs, nursing leadership, caregivers, and other community team members • Support the orientation and development of new care-team members when appropriate • Complete required documentation accurately and on time What Success Looks Like • Medications are administered safely, accurately, and on schedule • Documentation is consistently complete and accurate • Changes in resident condition are noticed and communicated quickly • Residents are treated with dignity, patience, and respect • Nursing and care teams communicate effectively across shifts • The medication-management process remains organized and compliant • Residents and families feel confident in the care provided by the community Who This Role Is For • Current Certified Medication Aide certification meeting Texas requirements • Completion of an approved Medication Aide training program • Ability to maintain all required continuing education and certification requirements • Previous senior living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, or healthcare experience preferred • Previous CNA experience preferred • Knowledge of medication administration, resident safety, and infection-control practices • Strong observation and communication skills • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English • Ability to work effectively as part of a resident-care team • Dependable attendance and ability to work the scheduled shift, including weekends or holidays when required What Sets You Apart • You pay attention to the details • You notice when something about a resident seems different • You remain calm and organized when priorities change • You communicate concerns instead of assuming someone else will handle them • You understand that dignity and kindness are part of quality care • You enjoy building relationships with older adults • Your teammates know they can count on you Why This Role Compensation & Benefits At IREG, we invest in our people, because strong leaders build strong communities.
