LPN - BEHAVIORAL HEALTH UNIT 7PM-7AM FULL-TIME Minden Medical Center is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for onsite nights (7pm-7am) to support safe, respectful care on our Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Unit. This role exists to help patients stabilize, progress toward treatment goals, and maintain a secure environment through attentive nursing care and clear documentation. Key responsibilities include completing focused assessments; administering medications and treatments as ordered; documenting medications, procedures, and observations in the medical record per protocol; assisting with admissions/discharges; transcribing and auditing provider orders for accuracy; supporting activities of daily living while encouraging independence; communicating changes in patient status to the care team; and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team on interventions and goals. The pace can shift quickly, so you'll stay calm and organized as you move between patient check-ins, coordinating with the charge nurse, and updating the team on any emerging concerns. Across the night, you'll balance meaningful bedside time with steady chart review and timely notes, keeping communication clear and respectful. You'll also help maintain a therapeutic, safe atmosphere-using a consistent, supportive approach with patients and families as questions come up. As the shift closes, you'll complete final documentation, prepare a thorough handoff for days, and leave knowing you helped keep the unit running smoothly overnight.
