What We Are Looking For We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support our Strategic Sourcing Direct Materials and Services team and lead complex sourcing initiatives and drive value across the supply chain. The ideal candidate will bring deep sourcing expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to support strategic procurement efforts. The successful candidate will lead strategic sourcing activities, programs, negotiate commercial agreements and manage categories. Categories managed by the Direct Materials and Services team include, but are not limited to Compression, Heavy Equipment, PVF (Pipe, Valves and Fittings), Pipeline Integrity, Tank Services and other categories. What You Will Do • Lead multi-functional stakeholder teams on strategic sourcing initiatives or projects. • Implement, manage, and maintain strategic sourcing programs for various categories. • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including category strategy, market analysis, negotiations, supplier selection, and contract lifecycle management. • Work with both company approved templates and third-party paper to execute vendor agreements. • Align sourcing initiatives with Kinder Morgan’s business needs. • Create and present strategy and results to all levels of leadership. • Support suppliers and internal customers for issues/questions for assigned categories. • Leverage spend data and industry insights to drive sourcing and category strategies. • Develop negotiation strategies using cost models, contract terms, risk awareness, and market intelligence. • Serve as the primary procurement contact for assigned categories, supporting suppliers and internal customers as needed. • Gain consensus on acceptable risk levels and contract language with all stakeholders including Legal, Risk, EHS and Business Unit leadership. What You Need EDUCATION • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or other related discipline is preferred. • Minimum 5 years of experience in a procurement environment is preferred. • Minimum 10 years of experience in a procurement environment required in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES • Familiar with industry and related commodities • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with internal customers and vendors. • Strong analytical, problem solving and time management skills. • Comfortable working with imperfect data and evolving processes • Takes a proactive approach to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement. • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to set a strategic vision. • Excellent communication (written and oral), stakeholder engagement, presentation and organization skills • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets and employees and the general public. • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams • Experience with SharePoint, Contract Management and ERP systems *Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills of the successful candidate Why Join Kinder Morgan Kinder Morgan is a large energy infrastructure company operating in North America.
