As a Surgical Technician joining our team, you will play an essential role in supporting safe, efficient surgical procedures and providing high-quality patient care. How You'll Contribute A Surgical Technician who excels in this role: • Assists the surgical team in preparing for and performing surgical procedures safely and efficiently. • Prepares operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures. • Maintains a sterile environment and follows established infection prevention and safety protocols. • Anticipates the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team during procedures. • Assists with patient positioning and preparation as appropriate. • Handles surgical instruments and supplies according to established procedures. • Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes. • Follows hospital policies regarding patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control. What We're Looking For Education: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program preferred. Experience: • Minimum of six months of prior experience in another healthcare facility required. Licensure/Certifications: • No specific license or certification required. • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification preferred. Additional Position Information Patient Populations Served: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged adults, and older adults. Physical Requirements: • Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday. • Ability to assist with lifting, moving, and positioning patients. • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements. • Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced surgical environment. Occupational Exposure: This position involves potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, biological and chemical hazards, hazardous medications, and latex.
