Responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to college record keeping, prepare accurate and timely financial statements and ensure appropriate internal accounting control. Identifies, analyzes, and implements processes to maximize utilization of the financial accounting and financial reporting systems College-wide; designs, maintains, and makes available accounting system reports, and reports and specialized financial system information as needed for decision-making and analysis. Acts as liaison with all external auditors engaged in auditing College accounts or external funded grants and contracts. Prepares and maintains complex monthly reconciliations of the College’s multiple bank accounts and fixed assets, as well as balance sheet accounts and subsidiary ledgers. Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP and ICCB rules. Keeps abreast of the various federal and/or state funding agency regulations, generally accepted accounting principles, and ensures their provisions are incorporated into the College's accounting and budgeting systems and in its financial reporting. Assists in preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts. Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met. Prepares financial management reports. Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. Analyzes and advises on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues. Processes and prepares journal entries. Prepares and analyzes new accounting statements and prepares procedure to implement. Develops procedures for department. Other related duties as assigned.
