The Value-Added Services (VAS) Supervisor will lead and oversee the value-added services operations within our warehouse. You will be responsible for managing the VAS associates team, coordinating value-added service activities, and ensuring the efficient execution of customized solutions for our clients. Duties and Responsibilities • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of VAS associates to deliver high-quality value-added services in accordance with client requirements and company standards. • Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and provide ongoing feedback to ensure a motivated and productive team. • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure VAS activities meet client specifications and adhere to established quality standards. • Conduct regular inspections of completed value-added services to verify accuracy and conformity. • Plan and organize value-added service tasks to meet client deadlines while optimizing productivity and resource utilization. • Monitor workloads and allocate resources effectively to ensure smooth execution of VAS operations. • Maintain accurate records of VAS activities, including work orders, production logs, and performance metrics. • Generate and present regular reports on VAS efficiency, accuracy, and performance to management and clients. • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding VAS activities, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and resolving any issues. • Proactively communicate with clients to understand their evolving needs and suggest improvements or enhancements. • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among team members. • Conduct monthly EFR (Efficiency Feedback Reviews) with staff providing feedback and coaching on areas of improvement. Requirements • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a 3PL environment or logistics industry • Strong knowledge of VAS management processes, industry best practices, and relevant regulations • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to communicate including reading, writing and speaking; some fluency in English is required. • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement • Ability to perform basic math functions. • Ability to work overtime as business needs dictates. • Aligned with Bergen’s How We Work Together Principles including: investing in People Development, creating a Safe Environment, treating others with Respect, being able to work as part of a Team, having Trust in others, having Passion for our work and clients, having good Communication skills and having high Accountability for oneself and others. Physical Requirements • Work regularly to lift and/or move objects 10-30 lbs; occasionally, with team support, lift and/or move objects greater than 30 lbs. • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including stair climbing • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling are required to retrieve and stock products at various heights. • May be required to climb ladders or stairs to access products stored on higher shelves. • Capable of performing repetitive tasks, such as packing, sorting, or labeling, with efficiency and attention to detail. • Must be able to tolerate fluctuations in facility temperatures • Must be able to tolerate an occasional high noise volume environment that includes speakers, fans, moving racks and conveyor belts.
