Platform & Services is seeking a Pipefitter. The Pipe Shop First Class Mechanic performs a variety of skilled mechanical duties involving general fitting piping systems on vessels, burning/brazing, testing and sketching piping systems. The First Class Mechanic operates equipment for assembly and installation; performs preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery; records work performed and follows specified safety policies and procedure. • Laying out, presenting, fitting, and installing pipe, tubing, and related equipment. This includes installing valves, hangers, and supports. • Cutting, threading, and bending pipes to specific lengths and angles using tools like pipe cutters, threading machines, and torches. • Connecting pipes using various techniques, including welding, soldering, brazing, and threading. • Conduct pressure tests and leak checks to ensure the integrity of the system before it becomes operational. • Inspecting existing piping systems for wear, corrosion, or leaks and replacing damaged sections. • Interpreting technical drawings, isometric sketches, and specifications to determine the layout and materials required for a project. Openings on both 1st and 2nd shift. Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $29.00 to $35.00 per hour (or $60,320 to $72,800 annually). Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as shift differentials or the terms outlined in an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will ultimately determine your wages.
