We are looking for an Optical Associate to join our Optical team. As part of a fast-paced, dynamic team, you will advise and assist customers with various types of lenses and spectacle frames for both adults and children. Job Responsibilities • Verify prescription orders for accuracy by comparing system entries to the prescribing doctor's original prescription and maintain organized order files using established store procedures. • Deliver exceptional customer service in person and by phone by assisting customers, explaining products and services, and creating a welcoming, professional experience. • Ensure appropriate frame selection for prescription requirements, verify prescriptions using a lensometer, update order status throughout the fulfillment process, notify customers when orders are ready, and process all sales and payment transactions. • Maintain strict compliance with all company policies, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard customer information. • Support daily store operations by assisting the Optical Manager with opening and closing procedures, cash reconciliation, and maintaining accurate point-of-sale transactions. • Foster positive working relationships with Boscov's store leadership and associates to promote a collaborative customer-focused environment. • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional optical department that supports an exceptional customer experience. Job Requirements • 1 year of optical experience • 1 year of experience working in a retail store • High school diploma or GED equivalent • Prior sales experience, preferred • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills • Strong customer service skills • Must have the ability to prioritize • Ability to work as a team member • Must have a strong sense of fashion and trends • Position is active and includes moving about throughout department during the shift Benefits At Boscov’s, we value our employees, and that’s why we provide a competitive compensation and benefits package.
