Job Description​ Saint Luke's South Hospital is seeking a part-time Lab Support Tech to join our team! Collects patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy. Documents receipt of patient samples in Lab Information System (LIS) and prepares them for analysis. • Part Time: two – twelve hour shifts a week, 0600-1830, Thursdays and Fridays. Can pick up extra hours as available due to PTO requests, call-ins, etc. • Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards. • Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR. • Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required. • Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection. • Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.
