A specialized environmental law boutique is seeking a Senior Environmental Attorney to lead a mixed practice encompassing litigation, regulatory compliance, and transactions. This opportunity offers primary client responsibility, an expanding role in firm leadership, and a defined path to equity partnership. The firm seeks an attorney interested in building a practice for the long term. Responsibilities: • Lead environmental litigation involving Spill Act and CERCLA contribution and cost recovery, toxic tort claims, and insurance coverage disputes. • Direct case strategy, expert development, motion practice, mediation, and trial or arbitration as needed. • Lead NJDEP administrative and enforcement matters. • Advise on ISRA, remediation programs, multi-site compliance, and enforcement resolutions. • Lead environmental aspects of real estate and corporate transactions. • Negotiate environmental terms and advise on liability allocation and post-closing obligations. • Manage client relationships, develop business, and supervise junior attorneys. • Participate increasingly in firm management, staffing, and practice planning. Qualifications: • 9+ years of post-admission legal experience. • Active New Jersey bar admission in good standing; New York admission preferred. • Sustained environmental practice with primary client relationship responsibility. • Lead or first-chair environmental litigation experience. • Demonstrated environmental regulatory compliance and transactional experience. • Experience supervising and developing junior attorneys. • A business development record, portable practice, or credible plan to develop one. • Interest in equity partnership and long-term firm leadership. The firm welcomes candidates with a portable practice as well as those whose principal strength is substantive environmental expertise. The position requires 2–3 days per week in the Englewood Cliffs office. Base compensation is $185,000–$225,000, commensurate with experience and portable practice, plus origination and performance compensation. JOB ID: 182538 #post Jessica Jones
