Family Medicine Hospitalist – Northern Minnesota A growing medical team is seeking skilled physicians to join a collaborative group of healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners, across two modern regional facilities featuring 24-exam-room and 18-exam-room layouts. The role involves providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages, focusing on preventive care, acute and chronic disease management, pediatric expertise, and transition of care for adolescents into adulthood. The incoming physician will provide care to a diverse rural population, including underserved communities, patients from treatment centers, individuals residing on reservations, and local community residents. The regional teams work in close collaboration, with the two primary facility locations situated approximately 20 minutes apart. Clinic work can be based out of either or both locations. This is a physician-led practice. Hospitalist coverage call is optional: 7-day stretch, every 6 weeks, based at a modern, 20-bed Critical Access Hospital with 24/7 ER physician coverage and Nurse Triage. Alternatives for coverage duration are open for discussion if a 7-day stretch is not preferred. Additional clinical opportunities include colposcopies, endoscopies, stress tests, EGDs, and other areas of interest. The practice utilizes the EPIC electronic medical record system. Flexible scheduling options are available, ranging from 0.6 to 1.0 FTE. REQUIREMENTS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics). LOCATION The practice area is nestled in the scenic Northwoods of Minnesota along the Mississippi River, located within convenient driving distance northwest of Duluth and north of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. The surrounding county serves as a gateway to major national forest lands. The region features over 1,000 lakes for fishing and water activities, along with extensive trails for hiking, biking, snowmobiling, and skiing, making it an excellent location for outdoor enthusiasts. The local communities offer thriving small businesses, including locally-owned breweries and wine bars, alongside cultural experiences, arts, and entertainment. The primary municipal hub has a population of 11,000 with a service area of approximately 45,000, while the neighboring community has a population of under 1,000 with a surrounding service area of over 30,000. COMPENSATION $276,000 – $339,109. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives, or production-based compensation.
