Job Description About the Role Worcester Cultural Academy is seeking a skilled, curious, and student-centered Grades 6-7 Science & Math Teacher to join our growing middle grades team. This is a core instructional role responsible for teaching both science and math at the 6th and 7th grade level - the ideal candidate brings content strength in at least one of these disciplines and the flexibility and drive to teach both well. This role is an opportunity to be part of something being built. WCA is adding a grade each year, and our middle grades program is still taking shape. We're looking for a teacher who is excited to help develop curriculum, contribute to team culture, and grow alongside students who are navigating the shift from elementary to middle school. If you're energized by that kind of challenge - and by the chance to do real, hands-on learning through an EL Education model - we want to hear from you. Who We Are Worcester Cultural Academy (WCA) is a growing charter public school that opened in August 2023 with a vision of becoming a K-8 community. We launched as a K-4 school and have added a grade every year since - this fall we welcome our first 7th graders. As an EL (Expeditionary Learning) Education school, we believe in hands-on learning that challenges students to grow in three dimensions: mastery of knowledge and skills, character, and high-quality work. We partner with organizations like the EcoTarium, Worcester Art Museum, and Hanover Theater and anchor our curriculum in Learning Expeditions that make learning meaningful and real. We want to be honest with prospective candidates: this is energizing, demanding work. Our school is still building its middle grades systems and culture, and we ask everyone on our team to show up fully for students and each other. If that excites you, you'll fit right in.
