Job Summary: Provides occupational therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and or Clinical Supervisor or designee. Essential Responsibilities: • Deliver Direct Patient Care Consistent with the provisions of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act, licensing bodies, and Kaiser Permanente HealthPlan. • Provides accurate and timely documentation of services provided per State and Federal requirements and relevant medical group and health plan policies and guidelines. • Participates in multidisciplinary clinics, patient care rounds, and case management conferences as requested by management. • Refers patient to appropriate medical providers when care is outside of scope of practice. • May instruct patient education classes and/or groups as requested by management. • May provide department in-service as requested by management e.g., journal club presentation, regular in-service presentation. • May serve as a clinical instructor as requested by management. • May provide consultation to staff. • May act as a mentor for staff. • May assist in orientation and training of employees as needed. • May participate in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management. • May be involved in the clinical competency of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehab Aides. • May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities. • Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.
