Structural Engineer, Building Design Consulting Location: Pittsburgh, PA Job Type: Full-time Pay: $90,000 to $140,000 per year Design schools, shopping centers, and commercial buildings across Greater Pittsburgh at a growing consulting firm where senior engineers mentor you and you help lead others. Must-Haves • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural concentration • EIT certification, with a PE license or ability to obtain one in a reasonable timeframe • Strong knowledge of building codes and structural design standards • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Strong written and verbal communication with clients and project teams What You’ll Do • Design structural systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential projects • Perform analysis and calculations for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures • Develop practical, economical, and innovative design solutions • Coordinate with architects and MEP, civil, and geotechnical engineers • Direct CAD and Revit designers on construction documents • Review drawings for quality and completeness before submission • Conduct site visits and field observations • Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and support construction administration • Manage multiple projects, schedules, and budgets • Mentor and guide junior team members Nice-to-Haves • 3+ years of structural engineering experience in a consulting firm • PE license • RAM Structural System / RAM Steel, ENERCALC, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, and Revit • Code knowledge including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, NDS, and TMS • Construction administration experience Compensation and Benefits • $90,000 to $140,000 per year • Mentorship from senior engineers • Leadership growth opportunities About the Company Our client is an established, growing 20-person structural engineering consulting firm serving commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential clients across Greater Pittsburgh.
