. Accounts Payable Accountant Role Purpose / Mission The Accounts Payable Accountant ensures timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payments, and related financial transactions. This role supports Webco’s operational and financial integrity by maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with internal departments to resolve discrepancies. The Specialist contributes to Webco’s success by protecting company assets, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities • Post invoices for payment, including raw materials, MRO, check requests, CAPEX, freight, utilities, and credit cards. • Review open items before weekly check runs to identify posting errors. • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies. • Work cross-functionally with other departments to investigate and correct invoice issues. • Maintain accurate Accounts Payable files, including deposits, check copies, back-up, and batch lists. • Reconcile vendor statements and monitor outstanding accruals. • Provide accurate costing information to Quality Management and other departments as needed. • Monitor freight rates billed by suppliers and collaborate with Purchasing on discrepancies. • Participate in training new team members and ensure effectiveness of procedures. Compliance & Accuracy Follows AP policies and internal controls to ensure financial integrity. Required Qualifications Required: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP. • Ability to multi-task, analyze, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Preferred (Optional): • Previous experience in manufacturing or multi-plant AP operations. • Familiarity with MRO, freight, and CAPEX invoice processes. Typical Physical Demands • Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day on a regular basis. • Prolonged periods of sitting, computer work, and phone use. • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. • Occasional standing and walking distances up to 2 miles in a manufacturing facility. Typical Working Conditions • Primarily works in an indoor office environment. • Temperature-controlled and clean office with normal air contaminants. • Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas with high noise levels; PPE required: hearing protection and safety glasses with side shields. .
