Full description

About Redwood Materials Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 by JB Straubel, co-founder and former CTO of Tesla, on a simple but radical idea: the critical minerals powering the energy transition already exist. They just need to come back. Today Redwood is the largest lithium-ion battery recycler in North America — recovering, refining, and redeploying critical minerals from end-of-life batteries back into the supply chain. On the energy side, Redwood has deployed the largest second-life battery project in the world, delivering power to AI data centers in months rather than years using proprietary energy architecture engineered entirely in-house. The company is profitable, the market it operates in is projected to grow 20 to 50 times over the next decade, and Redwood is the only company with the supply chain, the technology, and the operational scale to lead it. Lead Material Flow Specialist The Material Flow Lead supports daily warehouse operations by coordinating personnel, inventory, and material movement activities to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate execution of operational goals. This role serves as a floor-level leader, providing direction to associates, supporting cross-functional operations, maintaining inventory integrity, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Material Flow Lead acts as a key operational resource and point of contact during assigned shifts, particularly in the absence of supervisory leadership. Hours: • 6:00am - 6:00pm, Sunday - Tuesday (every other Wednesday ) Responsibilities will include: • Coordinate daily workflow, staffing assignments, and operational priorities to support production and material flow objectives. • Lead and support warehouse associates while promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, and accountability. • Monitor inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, perform inventory adjustments, and support inventory control initiatives. • Serve as a primary point of contact for operational issues, shipping and transfer requests, inventory inquiries, and cross-functional coordination. • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process, inventory, and quality-related issues while escalating concerns as appropriate. • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures and work instructions. • Train, mentor, and coach associates on safety, quality, equipment operation, and departmental processes. • Coordinate activities with Production, Logistics, Quality, and other departments to ensure operational alignment and achievement of shared goals. • Communicate operational performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities to leadership. • Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, equipment inspection procedures, and warehouse operating standards. • Perform additional duties and special projects as required to support department objectives. Desired Qualifications: • Warehouse, logistics, inventory control, packaging, or material flow experience. • Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and material handling processes. • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory transactions, and inventory reconciliation. • PIT/Forklift certification or operating experience preferred. • Strong understanding of quality standards, safety procedures, and continuous improvement methodologies. • Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams and resources in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization. • Ability to train, mentor, and develop associates while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and adapt to changing operational needs. • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely perform work in a warehouse environment. • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place. The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
