POSITION SUMMARY: As a Summer Hospitality Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in one of Big Cedar Lodge’s guest-facing departments, helping create memorable experiences for our guests while learning the hospitality industry from experienced professionals. Internship placements may include Marinas, Activities, Recreation, Cedar Creek Spa, Fun Mountain, Safety & Security, Finance & Accounting, or Marketing. This is a paid internship opportunity that offers valuable professional development, leadership exposure, and real-world industry experience. On-site housing is available for interns for a weekly rental fee, providing a convenient living option just steps away from the workplace and Big Cedar’s amenities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Participate in Weekly hospitality training courses that may review various hospitality management skills including but not limited to finance, marketing, customer service, procurement, etc • Actively work in assigned business area in a safe manner. • Participate in group project with assigned mentor that may be implemented through the property. Topics may vary from year to year. • All other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum Degree Required: ​High School Diploma or Equivalent​ • Must be entering junior or senior year of college, with a minimum of 60 credits completed • Preferred Degree of study: Hospitality Management, Sports & Recreation, Business Management, Marketing • Certificate(s) or License(s): None • Years of experience: 0 years required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: • Previous experience in working or volunteering with school age children • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and associates at all levels • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively • CPR certification and basic first aid training preferred • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: • N/A PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly walks and stands.
