Full description

A leading California law firm is seeking a Special Districts Paralegal (Litigation Paralegal II) for its Los Angeles office, with an optional work-from-home arrangement. This senior role supports the firm’s special district, municipal, and civil litigation practices through every phase of a case, from inception through trial and post-judgment proceedings. The paralegal will independently manage cases and anticipate attorney needs. Work includes drafting pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, declarations, and motion papers; calculating docketing deadlines; and cite checking and proofreading briefs. It also covers preparing for depositions and trials, including exhibits, witness lists, jury instructions, trial notebooks, and running trial software. The role leads e-discovery work, including privilege review and logs, TAR/CAL workflows, and managing large ESI productions with practice support teams. The paralegal will also use approved generative AI tools for summaries, chronologies, and first drafts, and will quality-check that output. Candidates need at least seven years of litigation paralegal experience, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and a paralegal certificate that meets California B&P Code §6450. Advanced knowledge of platforms such as Relativity, Everlaw, or DISCO is required, as are strong project management skills and flexibility to travel on short notice. Pay is $90,000–$95,000 annually ($46.16–$48.72/hour), non-exempt.
