Nurse Manager Overview • The Nurse Manager will oversee daily operations of an ambulatory clinic, ensuring efficient patient care and compliance with healthcare standards. • Collaborate with the Department Administrator to develop and implement policies and procedures for smooth clinic operations. • Manage staff recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluations to maintain high-quality care standards. • Ensure compliance with DOH, JCAHO, HIPAA, and OSHA standards, updating policies as necessary. • Provide nursing assistance to physicians and physician assistants, including post-operative care and suture removal. • Act as liaison between physicians, staff, and patients to resolve issues and enhance communication. • Conduct quality improvement projects to enhance clinic operations and patient care. • Prepare operational and fiscal reports as directed by the Department Administrator. • Represent the department on committees and attend relevant training sessions. Nurse Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties • Supervise staff and ensure efficient operations at the ambulatory care site. • Handle patient triage calls and review lab reports, reporting abnormalities to physicians. • Monitor patient statistics and room utilization, implementing standardized procedures. • Update policies to meet evolving needs of the department, physicians, and patients. • Perform quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinic operations and patient care. • Provide nursing assistance to physicians and physician assistants as required. • Act as a liaison and problem solver between staff, physicians, and patients. • Prepare reports on fiscal, operational, and patient care issues as needed. • Attend meetings and represent the department on relevant committees. Nurse Manager Job Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) and RN license to practice in New York State. • Minimum of five years of nursing experience, including three years in supervisory roles. • Advanced nursing degree preferred, with experience in triage and clinic management. • Knowledge of JCAHO, HIPAA, and OSHA standards is essential. • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage clinic operations effectively. • Ability to perform physical tasks required for active clinic management. • Proficiency in quality improvement and operational reporting processes. • Commitment to patient care excellence and adherence to healthcare regulations. • Availability to work full-time on-site with flexibility for weekends as needed.
