Registered Nurse Director Labor and Delivery Overview • Lead the Labor and Delivery department, ensuring optimal patient care and operational excellence. • Develop and implement strategic plans for patient care delivery systems and practice standards. • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to achieve safe and effective patient care. • Manage clinical resources, ensuring appropriate utilization and assignment of staff and equipment. • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including Nursing Practice Act and The Joint Commission. • Oversee recruitment, selection, and development of talent within the department. • Provide strategic direction for emergency preparedness and recovery plans. • Ensure continuous improvement in quality and safety of clinical practices and operations. • Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes to enhance service delivery. Registered Nurse Director Labor and Delivery Key Responsibilities & Duties • Oversee daily operations of the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring seamless functionality. • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with organizational goals. • Lead multidisciplinary teams to implement patient management solutions and care delivery improvements. • Drive compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across all operational aspects. • Evaluate and enhance the use of equipment, supplies, and medications within the department. • Provide clinical supervision and maintain expertise to guide care provision effectively. • Foster collaboration and communication among healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. • Direct initiatives for quality improvement and operational efficiency. • Ensure staff training and development align with organizational standards and goals. Registered Nurse Director Labor and Delivery Job Requirements • Minimum seven years of experience in patient care delivery and healthcare operations. • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing required. • Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification required. • Preferred certifications: CENP, NE-BC, or NEA-BC. • Experience managing operational or project budgets and leading teams effectively. • Strong knowledge of compliance standards, emergency preparedness, and patient safety protocols. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with healthcare information systems. • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to drive results and foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
