Job Title Med-Surg RN Location Socorro, NM | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Onsite Key Responsibilities • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. • Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care for an assigned group of patients during a shift. • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. • Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team; initiates and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. • Identifies and addresses patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. • Assumes clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel; floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required. Required Qualifications • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required. • Active State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required. • BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required. • Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in Medical-Surgical nursing. • At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required. • Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience / Skills • Experience with EPIC electronic health records; on-site training may be available.
