Job Title Travel RN – Mother/Baby (Postpartum) Location Overland Park, KS | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | Typically includes 2 hard-to-staff shifts (Monday/Friday) and 1 full weekend requirement every 3rd week plus 1 additional weekend Key Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive nursing care for postpartum women and newborns, including well baby nursery, LDRP, recoveries, and attending births for baby • Assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury • Perform and support unit procedures including circumcisions • Deliver discharge education, pain management, and prioritize patient care based on acuity; patient ratios of 6–8 patients • Utilize documentation systems CPN and Meditech, along with unit equipment including vitals machines, glucometer, TCB, and postpartum supplies • Float within women's services as needed; may float to pediatrics and/or NICU if cross-trained Required Qualifications • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; RN licensure required • BLS certification required • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required • Minimum 1 year of postpartum/mother-baby nursing experience • Proficiency with AIDET and BSSR communication frameworks Preferred Experience / Skills • BSN degree preferred • Experience in LDRP, well baby nursery, and postpartum recovery settings • Cross-training in pediatrics and/or NICU • Familiarity with CPN and Meditech documentation systems Why Join Us • Work on a 26-bed postpartum unit with a collaborative women's services team in a well-established acute care setting • No on-call requirements, allowing for a more predictable travel assignment experience
