Job Title Travel Medical Laboratory Scientist – ER Lab / FSED (Point of Care Testing) Location Salt Lake City, UT | Acute Care / Emergency Department Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks (extension to 26 weeks may be available) | Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM & Sunday 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 24 hours/week Key Responsibilities • Perform Point of Care (POC) testing within a freestanding emergency department lab setting • Operate as a Medical Laboratory Scientist supporting FSED operations • Perform clerical duties as assigned by Nursing and Lab Director in support of FSED operations • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to laboratory protocols and standards • Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements Required Qualifications • ASCP certification required (MLS, CLS, or MT – Medical Technologist) • Full licensure required — associate-level credentials are not accepted • Must hold current, valid MLS or equivalent certification through ASCP or a recognized equivalent body • Ability to perform POC testing in a fast-paced emergency department environment • Willingness to perform clerical duties as assigned in support of FSED operations Preferred Experience / Skills • Prior experience with Point of Care testing in an emergency or acute care setting • Familiarity with freestanding emergency department (FSED) workflows • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a high-volume environment Why Join Us • Opportunity to work in a dynamic emergency lab environment with a potential contract extension beyond the initial 13-week assignment • Gain valuable travel experience in a well-established acute care setting
