Job Title Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Telemetry (4 North CCU) | 7A–7P Location Kansas City, MO | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Full-Time Hours | 48 Hours Guaranteed | Projected Start: December 14, 2026 Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio • Read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips continuously throughout the shift • Administer and titrate IV medications including insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone • Provide post-cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post-Op Day 1 Open Heart, and permanent pacemaker placements • Perform and assist with procedures including IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker management, and Foley insertions • Document using Meditech and communicate with the care team using Imobile; adhere to patient experience standards including bedside shift report and patient engagement practices Required Qualifications • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri or compact state • Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU experience • Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips • Experience with post-cardiac procedural care and IV medication titration • Must be available to work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period; contract nurses may be floated to areas of demonstrated competency Preferred Experience / Skills • Experience with Meditech documentation system • Familiarity with equipment such as Alaris IV Pumps, temporary pacemakers, wound vacs, bladder scanners, and telemetry monitors • Experience using Imobile or similar team communication platforms Why Join Us • Work within a tenured, supportive team recognized with the AHA "Get With the Guidelines – Heart Failure GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll" award, offering a collaborative, family-like atmosphere in a fast-paced cardiac environment • Many travel nurses who have completed contracts on this unit have successfully transitioned into full-time positions
