Job Title • Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Tele Location • Tuscaloosa, AL Schedule / Job Type • Travel, Full-time, Days shifts Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care for a 42-bed Medical Respiratory Unit, primarily handling acute and chronic respiratory conditions such as pneumonia, COPD, and other lung diseases. • Participate in daily interdisciplinary rounds to coordinate patient treatment plans. • Float between units and hospitals as needed, ensuring coverage across various medical and respiratory care units. • Administer treatments to patients with GI issues, diabetes, stroke, surgical conditions, and respiratory diseases. • Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on the main respiratory unit and 1:4 on the respiratory step-down unit. • Adhere to all hospital policies, shift schedules, and holiday requirements, including working every other weekend. Required Qualifications • Associate degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) • Registered Nurse license in Alabama or a valid Compact state license (no temporary licenses accepted) • BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross • Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of recent relevant nursing experience, with at least 1 year in the specified specialty Preferred Experience / Skills • Previous experience working in Medical Surgical or Telemetry units specializing in respiratory care • Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records system • Ability to float safely between different hospital units Why Join Us • Opportunity to work in a dedicated respiratory unit with a supportive and interdisciplinary team. • Gain valuable travel nursing experience and expand your professional skills in a dynamic environment.
