Job Title Registered Nurse – Pediatric ICU (PICU) Location San Antonio, TX | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required Key Responsibilities • Provide ICU-level nursing care across a broad range of pediatric patient populations including respiratory, neuro, GI, GU, burns, DKA, ortho, ENT, and patients with cardiac histories • Manage and monitor patients on ventilators, drips, chest tubes, central lines, syringe pumps, trachs, and gastrostomy tubes • Maintain patient ratios of 2:1, with 1:1 for higher acuity and up to 3:1 for step-down/lower acuity patients • Assist with or support procedures including central line and chest tube placement, sedation, lumbar puncture, and intubation • Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system • Float to other children's units as needed, including NICU and pediatric specialty areas Required Qualifications • Active RN license with a minimum of 1 year of ICU-level nursing experience • Experience caring for intubated patients and managing mechanical ventilators • PALS certification required • Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and every other weekend • Navy blue scrubs required; t-shirts not permitted Preferred Experience / Skills • Experience caring for patients on ECMO (patient care, not pump management) • Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) • Familiarity with Meditech EMR • Flexible, positive, and communicative personality with strong teamwork skills Why Join Us • Opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-acuity 24-bed pediatric ICU serving a wide variety of complex patient populations • Supportive unit structure with charge nurses and unit coordinators on every shift
