Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Location Great Bend, KS | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 2 weekends per month required | Holiday rotation as needed | On-call: 1 shift per month Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting • Administer and monitor intravenous drips and medications within scope of practice • Participate in weekend coverage, holiday rotation, and on-call shifts as scheduled • Float within scope of practice to other units as operationally needed • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes Required Qualifications • Active Kansas RN license or valid Compact RN license • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required • Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical experience in a hospital setting • New graduates are not eligible for this position • Local candidates are welcome and accepted Preferred Experience / Skills • Experience managing IV drips including Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem • Familiarity with acute care protocols and high-acuity Med/Surg patient populations Why Join Us • Opportunity to work in a supportive acute care environment with a structured orientation program including virtual and on-unit training • Local candidates may have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role following the initial contract period
