Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Location Nashville, TN | Inpatient Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care on a locked incarcerated unit; candidates must be comfortable working with an incarcerated population. • Float as required to other Medical Surgical / Telemetry units, including forensics and inpatient units, with potential float to ICU. • Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition. • Participate in the facility's holiday rotation, with an expectation to work 3 of 6 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). • Complete required HealthStream pass/fail competency exams within 48 hours of assignment and meet all compliance deadlines prior to start. Required Qualifications • Valid Tennessee state RN license or compact multi-state license required at time of submission; license must be active with no pending status. • Current Nursys report required at time of submission. • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI) — all certifications must be included in the submission packet. • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted. • Local candidates are welcome and accepted. • Candidates must be available to work assigned holiday shifts and should expect contracts beginning in September to extend into the new year to support holiday coverage. Preferred Experience / Skills • Prior experience in a forensic, correctional, or locked unit setting. • ICU or step-down experience preferred given potential float requirements. • Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and interpretation.
