Job Title Travel RN – Trauma Stepdown Location Denton, TX | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Full-Time | Onsite Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed Surgical Trauma Stepdown unit serving a high-acuity population, with approximately 90% of inpatients arriving from the Emergency Department at a Level 2 Trauma Center • Monitor and assess patients on telemetry with vitals and full patient assessments every 4 hours • Care for post-operative and acute surgical patients including those recovering from trauma, bariatric, vascular, orthopedic, neuro/spine, urological, and general surgery procedures • Manage patients with neurological diagnoses (CVA, TIA, TBI, altered mental status, new-onset seizures, meningitis) and complex cardiac conditions including chest pain, CHF, dysrhythmias, and hemodynamically stable sepsis • Administer and monitor a variety of intravenous drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, and others per unit protocol • Float as needed to stepdown service lines including Progressive Care and Heart and Vascular units Required Qualifications • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas or compact state eligibility • ACLS certification required • BLS certification required • Minimum 1 year of RN experience • Strong customer service and communication skills Preferred Experience / Skills • Trauma and/or orthopedic nursing experience • Experience with Meditech EMR • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with a collaborative, team-oriented approach Why Join Us • Opportunity to work at a Level 2 Trauma Center on a dynamic stepdown unit with a diverse and complex patient population • Supportive team environment with experienced staff and no on-call requirements
