Job Title Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Location Thornton, CO | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Assignment Key Responsibilities • Provide progressive care nursing for a diverse patient population including post-operative surgical, orthopedic (spine and joint), gynecological, and cardiac patients • Monitor and care for post-cath lab patients including those recovering from PCI, pacemaker placement, ablation, cardioversion, and re-vascularization procedures • Manage patients requiring telemetry monitoring, stroke care, CIWA protocol, chest pain evaluation, and renal or respiratory failure management • Administer and monitor cardiac drips at set rates, including titrating heparin drips per protocol • Utilize electronic medical records systems to document patient care accurately and efficiently • Collaborate within a team-oriented unit environment, maintaining a patient ratio of 5:1 Required Qualifications • Minimum 1 year of current hospital PCU experience • Active RN license valid in Colorado or compact state eligibility • BLS certification required • ACLS certification required • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required Preferred Experience / Skills • Cardiac nursing experience • Prior experience with Meditech or CPN electronic medical records • Friendly, outgoing personality with strong teamwork and collaboration skills Why Join Us • Work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art unit featuring ADA/Bariatric rooms with in-room Hoyer lifts, a collaborative unit culture, and a wide range of nursing experience across a varied patient population • Benefit from a modified self-scheduling process with schedules posted approximately three weeks in advance, allowing flexibility for shift trades and personal planning
