Job Title Travel LVN/LPN – Med Surg / Telemetry Location Alexandria, LA | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every other weekend required | On-call may be required when census is low Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1 • Operate and monitor equipment including IV pumps, wound vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo pumps, chest tubes, telemetry monitors, PCA pumps, BiPAPs, and epidurals • Perform wound vac changes, wound care, IV insertions, and insertion of indwelling Foley catheters • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, RNs, and PCTs to deliver safe, quality patient care • Apply critical thinking skills to assess and respond to changes in patient condition • Float to assigned units (6A, 3A, 3 South, 4 South) as needed Required Qualifications • Active LVN/LPN nursing license in Louisiana or compact state eligibility • ACLS certification required • BLS certification required • Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience • Strong critical thinking and team collaboration skills Preferred Experience / Skills • Demonstrated prioritization skills in a fast-paced inpatient environment • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage a 6:1 patient ratio effectively • Prior experience with telemetry monitoring Why Join Us • Work alongside a well-staffed, team-oriented unit with a supportive day-shift structure including charge nurses, RNs, and PCTs • Gain valuable experience in a trauma, orthopedic, and med-surg setting utilizing a wide range of clinical equipment and procedures
