Job Title Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool) Location Overland Park, KS | Intermediate Care / Progressive Care / Stepdown Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in a float pool capacity across approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments, including floating to other metro campuses as needed • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to emergent cardiac events • Care for patients presenting with conditions including sepsis, stroke, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, ETOH, SI, wound care, and COVID • Perform pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care and support cardiovascular patient management • Utilize facility systems and equipment including Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell • Fulfill holiday shift and Charge RN assignments as needed, and complete 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) Required Qualifications • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact eligibility covering both states) required at time of submission • BLS certification required • NIHSS certification required • Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted • Proficiency in Med/Surg, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown work settings • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible Preferred Experience / Skills • ACLS certification preferred • Experience with sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, and port access • Blood product administration and central line care/management experience • IV therapy and phlebotomy skills Why Join Us • This is a float pool position offering broad clinical exposure across multiple Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU units, providing variety and the opportunity to expand your acute care skill set • No on-call requirements, with an expected schedule of 3x12-hour night shifts per week across a 13-week contract
