Job Title Histology Technician – Variable/Rotating Shift Location Coos Bay, OR Schedule / Job Type Contract | Rotating Shift | Onsite Key Responsibilities • Perform histological procedures including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as tissue processor, embedding center, automatic stainer, automated coverslipper, automated microtome, cryostat, and microwave • Utilize LIS and HIS computer systems to support laboratory workflow and documentation • Handle and prepare tissue specimens using floatation bath, analytic balance, volumetric glassware, and recycler • Conduct microscopic examination and quality review of prepared slides • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques for items up to 40 lbs Required Qualifications • Registry as a Histology Technician (HT) through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent certification • Current BLS certification required • Proficiency with laboratory equipment including tissue processor, embedding center, automatic stainer, automated coverslipper, automated microtome, cryostat, and recycler • Experience with LIS and HIS computer systems • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as required by the role Preferred Experience / Skills • Candidates with less than one year of experience will be considered • Familiarity with a wide range of histology instrumentation and laboratory workflows Why Join Us • Opportunity to work in a specialized laboratory environment supporting critical diagnostic services • Contract role offering professional growth and hands-on experience across a rotating schedule
