Full description

Removable Technician Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama Benefits: Full - Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K Salary: 28-35 DOE Relocation assistance if needed Patients judge a removable prosthesis by how it fits, functions, and looks the moment they wear it. This role exists to turn clinical records into dentures and partials that seat cleanly, speak and chew comfortably, and hold up in daily use. Your craft determines whether a case is accepted at try-in or sent back for another cycle. Precision here is patient care. We are an in office laboratory that seeks top of the line removable techs to join this great team! Performance Objectives • Produce complete dentures and removable partials that meet the prescription for fit, occlusion, shade, and contour on the first quality check. • Set teeth and wax cases so clinicians can evaluate esthetics and function at try-in with minimal adjustment. • Process, finish, and polish appliances to a defined standard of tissue adaptation, border accuracy, and surface quality before they leave the bench. • Cut remakes and major adjustments by catching setup, articulation, and processing errors before delivery. • Hit agreed turnaround times without trading away fit or esthetics, and flag schedule risks early. • Read prescriptions, models, and bite records accurately, and resolve unclear instructions with the clinician before work proceeds. • Document case notes and material choices so the next technician or clinician can continue the case without guesswork. Environment & Resources You will work at the bench in a dental laboratory alongside clinicians and fellow technicians who depend on consistent removable work. Expect standard lab equipment for model work, articulation, waxing, processing, finishing, and shade matching, plus the materials required for the cases on your schedule. You will report to the laboratory lead, who sets case priority, quality standards, and turnaround expectations. Essential Qualifications • Hands-on experience fabricating complete dentures and cast or flexible removable partials, including setup, wax-up, processing, and finish. • Demonstrated ability to read prescriptions, mount cases, and reproduce occlusion and midline, shade, and contour as specified. • Working knowledge of denture resins, teeth, clasps, and related materials, and when each is appropriate. • A record of low remake rates and on-time case completion in a production or clinical lab setting. • Clear communication with clinicians when records, bites, or instructions will not produce a successful result. • Careful bench habits: infection control, model integrity, and organized case tracking. • Specialized removable work, not a general bench that dilutes the craft. • Direct line of sight from your setup and finish to how a patient eats, speaks, and smiles. • Clinician collaboration on real cases, so judgment is valued alongside hand skill. • A standard of quality you can measure: fit at delivery, fewer remakes, and cases that do not come back.
