Our client is seeking an experienced tax leader to oversee and grow a tax advisory practice serving entrepreneurs, privately held businesses, executives, and high-net-worth individuals. This role combines client advisory, practice leadership, business development, and team management. The ideal candidate is a commercially minded tax professional who enjoys building relationships, developing talent, and delivering sophisticated tax solutions. Key Responsibilities • Lead complex tax planning, compliance, structuring, and advisory engagements. • Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, executives, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth clients. • Develop new business and expand existing client relationships. • Oversee engagement pricing, profitability, and overall practice performance. • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing tax team. • Provide technical guidance on federal, state, and local tax matters. • Partner with leadership on practice strategy, growth, and operational initiatives. • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and leverage technology. Qualifications • 15+ years of progressive tax experience. • Strong background serving high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, closely held businesses, and/or family offices. • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation, including individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and trusts. • Experience with tax planning, entity structuring, and complex advisory matters. • Proven business development and client relationship skills. • Experience managing engagement economics and leading high-performing teams. • Excellent communication, judgment, and relationship-building skills. • Commercial mindset and ability to thrive in a growth-oriented environment. • Willingness to travel periodically within the region.
