Overview
The Technical Training Manager, Workers' Compensation serves as a key learning partner within the Learning & Capability team supporting the Workers' Compensation Claims Operation. Under the direction of the Director, Learning & Capability, this role helps translate business priorities, claims-handling standards, and technical capability needs into practical learning solutions. The Manager contributes to the development, build, coordination, and delivery of the Workers' Compensation learning portfolio, from onboarding through career transitions, in partnership with Claims leadership, subject matter experts, GBCARE, Quality, Compliance, OneVoice, Internal Communications, and shared learning resources from the GCoE.
Strong knowledge of GB Care, Managed Care, and Medicare processes and their impact on claims handling is highly preferred for this role.
How you'll make an impact
• Contribute to the development, maintenance, and delivery of the Workers' Compensation learning portfolio, including technical onboarding, continuing development, advanced capability building, and learning that supports career transitions.
• Work as part of the Learning & Capability team to develop learning roadmaps, curricula, and role-based development pathways aligned to Claims Operations priorities, claims-handling standards, and workforce needs.
• Partner with Claims leaders and subject matter experts to gather requirements, identify capability gaps, and translate jurisdictional, regulatory, technical, and operational knowledge into practical learning content.
• Build, update, and quality-check instructor-led, virtual, digital, and performance-support resources, including state-specific and multi-jurisdictional content.
• Coordinate and deliver training programs, facilitate learning sessions, support other facilitators, and assist with rollout and performance-enablement activities.
• Collaborate with GBCARE, Quality, Compliance, OneVoice, Internal Communications, and shared GCoE learning resources to support consistent and accurate learning experiences.
• Track participation, learner feedback, readiness, and knowledge application; share insights and recommendations with the Director to support continuous improvement.
About you
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 5+ years in Workers' Compensation claims, technical training, learning and development, talent development, or capability building.
• Demonstrated experience developing, building, coordinating, and delivering technical learning programs across onboarding and continuing development.
• Strong understanding of Workers' Compensation claims practices, the claim lifecycle, jurisdictional differences, regulatory requirements, GBCARE and claims-handling standards.
• Experience collaborating with operational leaders, subject matter experts, and learning partners to translate complex technical content into practical learning solutions.
• Strong project coordination, written and verbal communication, facilitation, consulting, and relationship-management skills.
• Preferred: direct claims-handling or supervisory experience at Gallagher Bassett; familiarity with RISX-FACS, SharePoint, learning systems, digital learning tools, learning analytics, and cross-functional change or performance-enablement initiatives.
