The pediatric intensive care unit consists of 32-beds with an average daily census of 19. ~1200 admissions per year with a nearly 50/50 split medical and surgical patients, we care for the full spectrum of severely ill and injured children in a multi-disciplinary approach. The current critical care coverage model consists of two daytime teams, 8 FTE Board-certified/eligible pediatric intensivists with 24/7 in-house coverage, and 5 APPs who help days and nights.
