Senior AI Engineer - New York Location: New York, NY (Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office) Employment Type: Full Time Overview of the Role My client is a venture backed startup based in New York that is building AI-powered solutions for the financial services industry. They are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help design, build and scale the next generation of their AI platform and product capabilities. This role is focused on developing production grade AI applications, with a particular emphasis on multi-agent systems, intelligent workflows and AI-driven automation. The successful candidate will have experience operating in fast-paced startup environments and be comfortable taking ownership of products from concept through to production. Startup Experience Required: Experience working in Pre-Seed, Seed, Series A, Series B, or Series C companies. Responsibilities • Design, build and deploy production grade AI applications. • Develop and scale multi-agent systems and agent orchestration frameworks. • Build intelligent workflows, automation capabilities and AI-driven user experiences. • Develop scalable Python services and backend applications. • Work closely with product, engineering and business stakeholders to define and deliver new AI capabilities. • Contribute to platform architecture and engineering best practices. • Improve system reliability, performance and scalability across AI services. • Support the deployment and operation of AI solutions in production environments. Requirements • 5+ years of experience building production grade AI systems. • Strong Python engineering and software development experience. • Hands-on experience building multi-agent systems and agentic AI applications. • Experience deploying AI solutions into production environments. • Strong AWS experience and knowledge of cloud native architectures. • Experience working with LLMs, RAG architectures and agent orchestration frameworks. • Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems and scalable backend development. • Experience working in startup environments, ideally from Pre-Seed through Series C. • Proven experience building and scaling products in high growth companies. • Comfortable taking ownership in a fast paced environment. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with technical and non technical stakeholders.
