The Opportunity: A thriving national real estate company is hiring for a talented Assistant Controller to support the group's accounting and finance functions for their Development, Property Management and Corporate teams. Headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, this fully integrated real estate investment firm specialize in the acquisition, development and redevelopment of multifamily real estate throughout the United States. The Duties: • Provide day-to-day financial support/operations for the Property Management, Development and Corporate teams • Month-end and year-end closing process including preparation of partnership/investor distributions, financial statements, reconciliation, journal entries, management reports and cash flow analysis. • Help support and manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions • Ensure all property information is set up properly • Property management fee calculation • Support the annual budget process, working with property management and providing accounting assistance to finalize the budgets to present to owners • Calculate CAM estimates and year-end reconciliations process • Loan compliance reporting • Lease agreement review  • Support new acquisitions onboarding including preparing opening entries • Sales tax calculation • Work closely with the property management team in areas such as rent collections  Your Qualifications: • 3-6 years commercial property management accounting experience • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field • Software: • Experience with commercial property management software.  MRI a plus • Good working knowledge of Excel • Well organized and good communication skills • Exercise a high degree of initiative, independent judgment and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach
