Macdonald & Company is partnered with an active affordable housing developer expanding its development team to support a growing California pipeline. This is a hands-on role for someone who can take full ownership of projects from predevelopment through completion: financing, entitlements, construction, and handoff to asset management. The Role • This individual will manage 2-3 projects at a time across the full development lifecycle, including: • Developing project financing plans, including LIHTC, soft debt, project-based vouchers, and other layered capital sources • Navigating entitlements and coordinating with municipalities, agencies, and housing authorities • Running due diligence and reviewing loan documents, partnership agreements, and regulatory compliance • Managing the construction process in coordination with an in-house general contractor • Coordinating with housing authorities and transitioning completed projects to asset management • Maintaining project schedules, budgets, and timely reporting to leadership Platform Overview • Ground-up affordable housing developments across California, with active concentration in Riverside County, Orange County, and Santa Barbara • Projects typically range from 80 to 200+ units, often developed in multiple phases • In-house general contractor, third-party property management, and a lean development team with direct exposure to ownership
