Med/Surg Ortho Trauma Unit Information Location: Plano, TX Number of Beds: 36 Staffing: • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs Patient Ratios: 1:5 (may flex to 1:6) Type of Equipment: Tele EMR: Meditech Typical Hiring Profile Required Skill Set: • Must Have: • 1 Year of Med/Surg Experience • BLS Certification • Preferred: • Experience with Ortho and/or Trauma Patients Common Diagnoses and Procedures • Polytrauma Patients • Non-surgical Cervical Fractures Cleared by Spine • Ortho and Trauma with Downgraded Traumatic Brain Injury • Patients with No More than 3 Drains • Burn Downgrades • Heparin and Protonix Drips Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues to enhance patient care. Dress Code Scrub Color: Royal Blue Unit Guidelines Staff members are expected to be on the unit by 0645 for the morning huddle and 1845 for the evening huddle. Tardiness is subject to hospital policy, with specific parameters set for acceptable arrival times. Weekends Commitment to work 4 weekends per schedule is required.
