PCU Registered Nurse (RN) Job & Shift Details This position offers a night shift schedule in a Stepdown unit, requiring a commitment of 12-hour shifts. Unit Overview • Beds: 40 beds with an average daily census of 24 • Nurse Ratios: 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts • Common Patient Diagnoses: Adults with cardiac medical/surgical needs, dialysis, cancer, vascular issues, sepsis, adult respiratory conditions, stroke, post-stent and post-pacer placement, renal failure Responsibilities The registered nurse will be required to: • Provide care for patients in the progressive care unit • Titrate drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin • Be competent in handling arterial lines • Read and interpret telemetry strips independently Qualifications • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role • Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS • No artificial nails: Per policy, artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas Work Environment The PCU team prioritizes patient experience scores, responsiveness, and effective communication regarding medications.
