Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and the ability to deliver exceptional patient care while working in a fast-paced environment. Unit Information • Unit Type: Telemetry • Unit Name: IMCU/Cardiac Tele • Bed Capacity: 38 beds • Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1 to 3-4 • Common Diagnoses: CHF, COPD, Renal failure, Respiratory failure, Alcohol withdrawal, Post PCI • Electronic Medical Record: Cerner Shift Details • Shift Length: 12 hours • Shift Times: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week • Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule • Holiday Requirements: Work into permanent staff rotation Qualifications • Years of Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a telemetry or critical care setting is required; first-time travelers are welcome. • Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and COVID Vaccine (Certification required) Responsibilities • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the telemetry unit. • Perform bedside shift reports to enhance patient experience. • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. • Monitor patients’ vital signs, interpret telemetry readings, and respond to emergency situations as needed. • Participate in patient education and advocate for patient needs. Additional Information • This is a busy unit with a high patient volume, regularly operating at full capacity. • The nurse will be required to take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on the first day; this is a pass/fail assessment. • Unit will have 2-3 Nurse Aides and 2 Monitor Techs to support nursing staff. • Self-scheduling is available by seniority, with shift trades permitted. • Successful candidates will be self-motivated, team-oriented, and invested in the mission and values of the organization.
