Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU Unit Information Join a fast-paced, challenging cardiac unit within a renowned cardiac center for excellence. Our unit is designed for high acuity patients with a dynamic team environment. General Information • Number of Beds: 20 • Number of Staff: 40 • Type of Staff: RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) • Day Shift Staffing: 1 Charge RN, 5 Nurses, 3 PCTs • Night Shift Staffing: 1 Charge RN, 5 Nurses, 2 PCTs • Patient Ratios: 1:4 • Type of Equipment: Telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, tracheostomy care, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, IV pumps, SCD pumps • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech Qualifications Minimum Requirements: • At least 1 year of current PCU experience • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Preferred Qualifications: • Extensive neuro experience • Additional PCU and cardiac experience Typical Procedures Performed on the Unit • Chest tube placement and removal • Removal of pacer wires • 12-lead EKGs • Medication drips including heparin, tikosyn, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, Lasix, and ketamine Ideal Candidate Profile • Demonstrates strong teamwork skills • Exhibits high energy and adaptability Additional Information This unit offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment with a focus on cardiac care.
